Alessio Alfano si è diplomato presso il primo Istituto d'Arte di Napoli. Ha iniziato la sua carriera eseguendo lavori di progettazione tecnico - artistica presso lo studio di Ingegneria edile del padre. Successivamente ha collaborato per l'allestimento e la realizzazione scenografica di alcune opere presso il Teatro S.Carlo di Napoli. Ha maturato esperienze artistico - culturali viaggiando in Italia e all'estero (Inghilterra, Francia. Austria. Spagna. Olanda, etc..).
A Parigi in qualità di studente dell'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Napoli, ha avuto modo di ampliare la sua formazione artistica grazie a scambi culturali con la Sorbona.
E' stato titolare della cattedra di Discipline Plastiche ed Educazione Visiva presso l'istituto Statale d'Arte di S. Gennaro (NA) essendo vincitore di concorso per gli Istituti di Istruzione Secondaria di I e II grado.
Scultore ed esperto di arredamento urbano artistico, di tutela ambientale e politiche sociali, con decreto del Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca - Ufficio Scolastico Regionale per la Campania - C.S.A. di Napoli, prot. N°16123/P/2 del 07/09/2002, (Legge 285/97; legge 328/00), avendo ideato e promosso il progetto "Trasformiamo la città", è stato nominato sul Progetto stesso in qualità di responsabile per il settore artistico-architettonico, da sviluppare a livello regionale. La fase conclusiva del suddetto progetto ha visto, in collaborazione con l'Ufficio Tecnico del Comune di Nola (Na), la ristrutturazione della Piazza del Vecchio Foro Boario, con l'installazione di due gruppi scultorei, realizzati dall'Alfano.
In precedenza, su mandato del Ministero delle Poste e Telecomunicazioni, in occasione della costruzione del nuovo palazzo postale di Nola, ha curato la progettazione artistica, la realizzazione e la messa in opera di gruppi scultorei (in ferro battuto) raffiguranti la storia della posta.
I suoi lavori sono presenti in collezioni private e pubbliche. In particolare si ricorda i templi realizzati in marmo, ferro battuto e cristallo nei cimiteri di Poggioreale (Na) e Nola (Na).
Data la poliedricità dei suoi interessi artistico - creativi, il maestro Alfano ha organizzato il suo studio in modo da soddisfare ogni sua esigenza di lavoro, in particolare esso è formato da:
- Sala di esposizione.
- Studio di progettazione per arredamenti (per l'aspetto tecnico e prevista la collaborazione di ingegneri edili e di esperti specializzati nel settore edilizia).
- Due laboratori destinati uno alla lavorazione del ferro, rame, cristallo e vetrate artistiche, l'altro a quella del rame, della ceramica, del legno e del marmo.

Sculptor and expert of artistic urban street furniture, of environmental protection and social policy, with Decree of Department of Education and Science of University and Research-Regional Scholastic Office of Campania - CSA of Naples, prot. N°16123/P/2 of the 07/09/2002, (Legge 285/97, Legge 328/00) having devised and promoted the plans "Let's transform the town!" he has been appointed on the same plan as responsible for the artistic-architectural sector to develop at a regional level. The conclusive phase of the above mentioned plans has seen, in collaboration with the technical office of Municipal District of Noia (Na), the restoration of Vecchio Foro Boario Square and the settlement of two sculptural groups, realized by the sculptor Alfano.
Previously, by order of the Department of Post Office and Telecommunications, on the occasion of the building of the new Post Office, he has supervised the artistic planning, the realization of the sculptural groups (in wrought iron) which represent the history of the Post.
His works are in private and public collections. In particular, we mention the temples realized in marble, wrought iron and crystal that is in Poggioreale's and Nola's cemetery.
Thanks to the versatily of his artistic and creative interests, master Alfano has organized his study in order to satisfy any requirement of work, in particular it is composed by:
